Have you heard of football golf? I believe that when you hear this question, your first reaction must be the same as mine, football or golf? No way, how can these two sports be played together? That's right, we are talking about "football golf".
With such evolving change in the age of participant , a new emerging sport is coming up in golf course to meet up with evolving demand, a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf: footgolf or soccer golf.
The Origin and Development of Football Golf:
Football golf is said to have originated in the Netherlands in 2009. Once this new sport came out, it quickly spread worldwide, not only Europe, America. Currently, more than 30 countries or regions have established football golf associations/alliances, such as Argentina, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, the United States, China etc.
How is Football Golf Played?
The golfers play football using the rules of golf, using feet as the club and a #5 soccer ball as the golf ball. There is no goal on the field, only a bigger "golf hole". Golfers use "a hard kick with their feet" instead of "hitting the club" to kick the football into the hole with the least "strokes" possible.
The appeal of Football Golf:
Football golf provides an alternative way of playing football for football fans, and also allows golf enthusiasts to experience a new outdoor sports experience of "getting the ball into the hole with one foot"!
